Phonics Practice: Short Vowels

Practice vowel recognition. Students should mark the vowel sound in the
box provided "A, E, I, O, or U. If the Vowel sound is not present
that the students are learning in that day, they should mark it 'X'

  1. These worksheets are great. I used them with my third grade class - we did the letter A/a this week, E/e next week and so on. Naturally, we will review previous weeks each time. It's so important that we start teaching our students to write in 3rd grade so they are ready for the big jump to 5th grade when they are suddenly expected to magically be able to just write!

  2. I've certainly found doing phonics work help improve their reading, their listening too. I reckon I'll definitely use these worksheets this term.
    (Pity about the spelling mistake though...'here/hear'... is that changeable??)

  3. Sorry about the spelling mistake. I looked through out the worksheets briefly but could not spot it. Could you point out which sheet has the mistake and I will change it. Thanks for your feedback.

  4. all sheets have the same typo instead of "hear" they all say "here". can you please fix that part?

  5. Just take a look at all the sheets on top. Where the instructions are. I think it's the last sentence.
